The cooking process for rice and soya is fairly simple.
Add some spices and then a little water to get it just right.
The rice can be steamed or cooked over an open flame and the soya can be cooked over a grill or a pot over low heat.
The cooking time depends on the type of rice you use and the type and quality of the ingredients.
A small batch of soya will take about two hours to cook.
Soak rice in cold water for five to 10 minutes to remove the starch and salt.
Add the water back to the rice.
Let the rice soak for an additional 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove the rice from the water and drain the water.
Add a little salt to the water, and bring the water to a boil.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and cover the rice for 20 minutes.
Remove from the heat and allow the rice to sit for about an hour.
Remove a few spoonfuls of rice to a bowl and add the soy sauce.
Stir to combine.
Taste the soy and adjust if needed.
Add salt and pepper to taste and adjust the soy mixture if needed to your taste.
Serve over rice or with some fresh soy sauce to taste. Enjoy!
